The 1973 Collection

The new 1973 collection has been launched to mark the 50 year anniversary of Sunderland’s momentous FA Cup win.

Second division Sunderland stunned the mighty Leeds United to win the world’s oldest and most famous cup competition. Bob Stokoe and his team etched themselves into Wearside folklore with a tremendous battling display. Leeds United, a fixture towards the top end of the first division for a decade, didn’t know what had hit them, as Porterfield scored, Monty saved - and captain Kerr lifted the cup.

This collection pays tribute to those players, Montgomery, Guthrie, Malone, Pitt, Watson, Horswill, Kerr, Hughes, Porterfield, Tueart and Halom, and to legendary manager Stokoe. 50 years on from that memorable day on the fifth of May…
